RUNNERS’ CLUB OF GREATER CINCINNATI BOARD MEETING MINUTES
February 1, 2012 6:30 PM
Courtyard Marriott, Florence KY

Present: Gina Meyers, Todd Hofacre, Ryan Smith

Absent: Laura Wagner, Tom Glasscock, Ryan Woolley, Dave Reid

Meeting came to order at 6:35 PM.

Meeting Minutes: Due to not enough board members for a quorum, January Meeting Minutes were not approved.

Financial Report: Ryan Woolley was absent from the meeting so no treasurer report was given.

Membership: Todd reported that there were 160 members. 14 new members joined in January. Todd also mentioned that Membership renewals are due March 1.

Newsletter: Kristen Snyder will be the featured runner for Winter. Still need a president letter, and a few more articles to go with the newsletter.

Website: Marty was not on hand to discuss the website.

Social:
Annual Meeting: will be held April 9, 2011. Gina will reserve the Swaim Park Lodge. Need to get board members as most plan to leave the board in 2012.

Races:

RCGC Indoor Distance Track Meet recap - 1/22/12: Picked up 2 new club members as a result of the race. Get it together earlier to allow more promotion time and more volunteers. It went well except for the distance Medley Relay which proved to be a challenge due to the counting of the laps. Need more volunteers to help with it.

Winter Wonderland 5 Mile: Gina went over the P&L for the race. Made $700. Had left over awards, and some food left over. Bought too much food and needed a few more volunteers.

Valentine Day Race: Todd met with Steve Kruse, Paul Longo, and Rachel Bea from NKU on January 30 to go over details. Todd went over the status. Numbers about 20 down from last year at this time. Shirts and Awards have been ordered, and on the way. Club is responsible for packet pickup, and finish line.

Leap Day Race: Still looking for a location, Todd has not heard back from the Holy Grail. Turfway Park is a possibility.

Split the Pot Prediction Run: Todd needs to contact Hamilton County Park Board to reserve Fernbank Park.

Heart Mini Marathon 03/18/12: 6 people have signed up for the team. Ryan Woolley will be handling the room and was not on hand to give a report.

Flying Pig Expo & Waterstop 5/5/12: Todd sent the Flying Pig Discount out to club members. Discussed getting a booth at the Flying Pig Expo.

Memorial Day Race 36 - Need a Race Director. Will get working on it after the Valentine’s Day Race.

Race Committees: Next meeting is February 13, 2012 at Pot Belly in Rookwood Commons.

Group Runs: Gina gave an update on the Group Runs. Cindy Cranmer has offered to head up The Miami Whitewater Run when Gina can not be there. Nothing to report from Laura about Tuesday’s group Run.

Training Program:

Programs/Seminars: The club may be looking at doing a one day training clinic. Ryan Smith and Jascia Redwine are working on it.

Merchandising: Todd needs to take inventory. Also, the board needs to decide what merchandise to get for 2012.

Miscellaneous:

Next Board Meeting Next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 6:30 PM at the Courtyard Marriott in Florence KY.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
